The Our Young Voices publication, which is just one of the manifestations of the Pride In Authorship Initiative seeks to promote written expression and authorship for our youth (ages 5 to 18).
The 2016 Scholarship Week, sponsored by the African American Music Association, in Cleveland, Ohio was a major success! The Our Young Voices, Dream Contest for Middle Schools was held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the First Cleveland Mosque.

The 2016 Scholarship Week College Fair
Over 160 students were assisted, over 31 parents and 32 colleges attended. Nearly $2,000,000 in scholarship assistance was awarded to students.
Another manifestation of this initiative is the administration of the Youth Literary and Publishing Writing Competition. There will be at least five to 10 winners, whose works will be published, in each of the semi-annual publications!
The Pride In Authorship Initiative is currently operational in Cleveland, OH and Tulsa, OK. The goal is to have this extremely valuable initiative operational in 25 cities across the United States!
The winning essays are published in the Our Young Voices publication, with the winner’s photo, and sold on major book retailing web sites like Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.
Each winning essayist will receive:
– a free copy of their book – an award certification of authorship – other great prizes including cell phones or tablets (for the grand prize winners)!
The prizes are nice yet, ultimately, the greatest reward is seeing the beaming Pride In Authorship!
